Pecan Pie
from "The Joy of Cooking"

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. Brown pie shells for 5 to 7 minutes. Allow to cool.
  3. Reduce oven heat to 370°F.
  4. Cream butter and brown sugar. Beat in one egg at a time.
  5. Fill the shells.
  6. Bake the pies for about 40 minutes or until a knife inserted in the filling comes out clean.
